Gosh, I know I haven't updated my blog much recently. When I do, usually it is to showcase someone else's handmade creation that I have bookmarked in my Etsy favorites. I used to post pictures of projects I created and updates about current events at the Gates house: photos from places we go, etc. I'd like to get back into doing that again, especially now, since I showcase the work of others each day at my new blog, http://ChicYourWeek.com.
If you haven't yet visited Chic Your Week, I invite you to! I have had the concept in my head for quite some time: I post one chic photo at 8am EST, seven days a week. There aren't any words or even blog post titles for that matter...just something pretty to look at each morning. I've bookmarked literally over a thousand images over the past year and it is time I bring them out of their file and into the blogosphere!
Now, Chic Your Week is news, but it's not the news. Sometimes I post about things we do as a family or tweet about funny things our son has said (http://twitter.com/delaneygates), and I don't want y'all to wonder who in the heck I'm talking about when I start doing the same for another little one at the Gates house in a couple of months! That's right, we're expecting a little girl!! Priscilla Renee will be here sometime around April 10th! After years and years of Nerf gun fights, G.I. Joe figures and spy gear, I will have a little girl to have tea parties with, play Barbies with, and buy pink ruffled clothes for! (Me? Excited? Nah...) ;)
So, right now, I'm VERY pregnant- 29 weeks and one day to be exact. My stomach is HUGE and I'm still not used to sleeping on my side, but all in all, it's been a really easy pregnancy, thank goodness. (Except for the first couple months; the morning sickness was much worse this time than with Connor.) Thankfully, the time has flown by! I can't believe I'm already over two thirds of the way through. Priscilla will be here before we know it! In fact, we put together the bassinet over the weekend. (Actually, Jason put it together and I added the ruffled cover and the baskets underneath. Lol.)
I've been keeping my creative side busy with the Army quilt I'm hand-stitching and projects here and there for Simply Handmade. In the very near future, I'm going to take a photo of each of Priscilla's outfits, so I can make matching bows for them. Anyone know the secret for staying creative while exhausted? If you do, please be sure to share it with me in a couple months.
Well, now you know the latest! :)
~Delaney
